Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are investigating the death a Coral Springs man who crashed into a tree after being shot in Deerfield Beach. Investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the shooter(s).
According to investigators, at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, BSO Deerfield Beach District deputies responded to a call about a single-vehicle crash at Heritage Circle Condominiums, 4354 N.W. Ninth Avenue. When deputies arrived on scene, they located an unresponsive adult male, later identified as 19-year-old Bryan Fonseca, who had crashed into a tree as a result of being shot. The victim was driving a black 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG C43.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded, and Fonseca was transported to Broward Health North.
BSO’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) was notified to investigate. On Friday, Feb. 2, Fonseca was pronounced deceased, and the case was turned over to BSO’s Homicide Unit.
