The BSO Public Information Office is currently working a developing incident regarding a shooting located at: 4900 Northwest Ninth Avenue, Oakland Park.

At approximately 12:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting at the Grand Hotel located at 4900 Northwest Ninth Avenue in Oakland Park. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene. Deputies set up a perimeter and, while on scene, multiple shots were fired out of a window at the hotel in the direction of deputies. No one was struck. BSO’s SWAT team responded as did BSO’s Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units. Following a standoff and additional rounds being fired from the shooting suspect, BSO SWAT was able to safely take the adult male shooting suspect into custody. At this time, the investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
