Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a man dead in Pompano Beach.
Shortly after 7:50 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 23, BSO traffic homicide detectives responded to the 600 block of North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach after receiving a report of a crash involving two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed Gustavo Rojas Ruiz was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Powerline Road when the vehicle collided head on with the female driver of a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported the driver of the Jetta to a local hospital with serious injuries. Paramedics pronounced Rojas Ruiz deceased on scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
