PIER REPAIRS & IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
The International Fishing Pier was damaged by storm surge due to Hurricane Nicole, on November 9, 2022. The City conducted a structural assessment of the pier which resulted in several recommendations for improvement. This project is a signature attraction to the city’s beachfront and will benefit the Deerfield Beach community. The International Fishing Pier attracts fishermen and sightseers from all over the world and supports the City’s world-renowned live camera feed.
This project aligns with the City’s commitment to developing infrastructure, facilities, and organizational capacity for a sustainable community.

PIER OPTIONS
Option 1
Complete refurbishment of the existing pier. These activities are needed to reopen the Pier in its entirety.

- Electric supply, new indirect lighting, CCTV, and lightning protection. ($46,000 over base option)
- New Utilities (water, electric, security) ETC. ($140,000 over base option)
Option 3
Complete refurbishment of the existing pier with additional aesthetic improvements such as all-new pavilions and aluminum railing.
- All new aluminum railing along the entire pier. ($870,000 over base option)
- Two new aluminum pavilions. ($400,000 over base option)
