The EC 135 helicopter sustained an in-flight emergency and crashed into a small apartment building, east of North Dixie Highway and just south of Northeast 10th Street in Pompano Beach. Battalion Chief Terryson Jackson and an adult female who was inside the apartment at the time of the crash were pronounced deceased on the scene. Pilot Roche and Firefighter Paramedic Chaguaceda escaped the wreck and were transported to the hospital.

Battalion Chief Jackson started his career with Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue on March 22, 2004, and joined the Broward Sheriff’s Office as a Fire Rescue Lieutenant during the merger on October 1, 2011.
