A man is dead following a shooting in Pompano Beach on Saturday evening, and Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, Broward County Regional Communications received a call regarding a shooting in the area of Northwest 17th Terrace and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Pompano Beach. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located an adult male, Donelle Hunter, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim to Broward Health North where he was pronounced deceased.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to the scene and are conducting an active investigation.
