- Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a crash that occurred in Hillsboro Beach on Sunday, Dec. 5 that killed a pedestrian.
According to investigators, the driver of a 2017 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound in the 1000 block of Hillsboro Mile (A1A) when the pedestrian crossed the roadway from west to east. The pedestrian stepped in front of the vehicle and was struck. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on Monday, Feb. 7.
At this time, neither excessive speed nor impairment are being considered contributory factors to the crash.
BSO traffic homicide detectives are investigating the fatality at the request of Hillsboro Beach P.D.
