Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- The City of Deerfield Beach has mats for access across the sand to the ocean for those in wheelchairs as well as floatable wheelchairs as seen on Youtube video below. Last week I saw a Facebook post showing the picture above with the mat Deerfield Beach has, available allowing wheelchair access to the beach. I had only seen these in use at special events. I was not aware that the mats and floatable wheelchair are available from the city of Deerfield Beach. I contacted the city of Deerfield Beach and the Director of Communications Rebecca Medina Stewart informed me both the mat and a floatable wheelchair are available from the city for several years now, and they are well used.
