Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-Seems even FEDEX customer service and policies have been affected by COVID .FedEx which has suspended its guarantee on ground shipments during COVID has a lot of customer service failures, particularly when it comes to shipping FedEx ground. A company that once stood head and shoulders above the rest for customer service noW just has a bad attitude.

No one can survive and sell successfully thru ecommerce and be subjected to arbitrary rules such as FedEx imposed on the shipment of tires. We have called and emailed to no avail to get someone to explain the rules or weight and dimensions and packaging to avoid these frivolous fees they are charging. Seems that from their side they just double talk and do not clarify how a shipper of tires can avoid these fees.

The first nonsense fee is actual weight vs rated weight? What the hell does that even mean? THE ACTUAL WEIGHT IS THE WEIGHT.

The second nonsense fee is for peak AHS charge, what the hell does that mean?

Then they charge of course for a residential delivery. Why is that not included in the price given online, they know it is going to a home as opposed to a business when the shipper is entering that information to obtain a price quote? Seems a price quote means nothing at FedEx it is not even a rough estimate of your final bill.

THE THIRD FEE IS THE ADDITIONAL HANDLING FEE, FOR WHAT? YOU KNOW THE WEIGHT DIMENSIONS AND DESTINATION WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL HANDLING FEES FOR?

HOW CAN A SHIPPER SET THEIR PRICES FOR THEIR PRODUCT IF FEDEX “WILLY NILLY” CAN JUST BILL YOU WHATEVER THE HELL THEY FEEL LIKE WITHOUT EXPLANATIONS.

The way  FedEx charges these fees has to be costing small e-commerce shippers of a product like tires tens or hundreds of millions extra per year that FedEx is really stealing, by not including in their online quotes. Seems FedEx has no shame in not explaining to their customers/shippers what can be done to avoid these fees,is that too much to ask?
