Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl- In what can only be described as a contentious race seems to be heading in favor of appointed Sheriff Gregory Tony. Early results as of 8 pm show Sheriff Tony who was appointed by Governor Ron Desantis after he removed Sheriff Scott Israel from office in 2019. According to the numbers, Tony has a slight lead over Israel in a crowded Democratic primary field of candidates. Alcee Hastings Democratic Congressman from District 20 has been projected as the winner.
