Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-The car chase that started Saturday in Pompano Beach on A1A and traveled through Hillsboro Beach and ended in Deerfield Beach netted three who were toting rifles and shooting at BSO.
BSO was returning the gunfire at the fleeing KIA as it sped northbound on A1A. The chase which was started when the license plate reader got a hit on a stolen tag. The chase was on and so was the gunfire. Douglas Sail,41, Ashley Johnson 46 and driver Pamela Kerce of West Boca Raton were all arrested by BSO in Deerfield Beach after deputies used the PIT maneuver to end the chase. Shotguns and rifles were found on the floor of the car, witnesses said others were thrown from the car during the chase. Police found a .22 caliber rifle and a shotgun along Hillsboro Mile in Hillsboro Beach where they were tossed by the suspects during the car chase.No one involved in the chase was seriously injured. Sail and Johnson are both fugitives from Oklahoma.
