She was once his student, now he is hers. Captain Kristen Sargent began her career as a BSO fire rescue cadet in 2001, when Battalion Chief Michael Kane served as an adviser to the program. Chief Kane participated in a role reversal where he was Captain Sargent’s trainee on Fire Boat 102.
Battalion Chief Michael Kane now serves as BSFR’s Public Information Officer.
