COMMUNITY MOURNS THE DEATH OF BOCA RATON PHILANTHROPIST HARVEY SANDLER

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Boca Raton philanthropist, and pillar of the community Harvey Sandler has died. Harvey Sandler was the founder of Sandler Capital Management and was a Vice President of Goldman Sachs and Co. Harvey Sandler along with his wife Phyllis were among Boca Raton’s largest philanthropists. The Sandler family has donated over 20 million dollars to Boca Raton Community Hospital (now part of Baptist Hospital)donating the funds for the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler Pavillion at The Lynn Cancer Center.  Harvey had survived a brain tumor in 2004. The Sandler’s also have funded Harvey and Phyllis Sandler Center for Jewish Life enhancement at the Jewish Community Center in Boca Raton. As well the Sandler’s were active members and donors at Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton where the children’s school bares their names. Harvey and Phyllis also at one time owned the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Casino in San Juan Puerto Rico.  The Sandler’s are longtime Boca  Raton residents living in a 15,000 square foot mansion in Saint Andrews Country Club.

 

Services for Harvey Sandler will be on Sunday, January 5 at 1 PM at Congregation Bnai Israel on Yamato Road in Boca Raton.
