Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-The city of Deerfield Beach remains without a clue in the removal of the failed $335,000 reef project. Again the City of Deerfield Beach has failed to have the ability to remove two abandoned boats from our shoreline.
Talk about the Coast Guard coming to the rescue certainly seem to be a rumor and not factual. Many are concerned the contractor will abandon ship and leave Deerfield Beach’s taxpayers footing the salvage bill for removal and completion of the failed reef attempt.
Still stranded on Deerfield Beach are the tug and barge that were part of the failed reef project. Attempts today to remove them snapped cable lines and failed to budge the barge or tug. Deerfield Beach’s folly has many residents concerned it will turn into an environmental nightmare if not resolved soon!
