SHERIFF TONY NAMES COLONEL NICHOLE ANDERSON NEW UNDER SHERIFF

From BSO-MEET THE NEW UNDERSHERIFF: It’s with great honor that Sheriff Gregory Tony announced the first black female Undersheriff in BSO’s history, Colonel Nichole Anderson.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Colonel Anderson first made history at BSO when she became the first African American female captain to head a district command with her appointment as Chief of the South Broward district in 2011. In January 2017, she became the first African American female promoted to the rank of major, and, in January of this year, she became the first female promoted to the rank of colonel.

Well respected by her colleagues, Sheriff Tony shared a heart warming story about how Command staff put their interests aside and collectively recommended her as the new Undersheriff.
