Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-BSO Public Information Officer Keyla Concepcion has confirmed the following.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, a detention deputy was conducting a physical check of inmates when he discovered a 17-year-old had attempted suicide. The deputies and Wellpath staff rendered immediate assistance. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported the inmate to a nearby hospital where he remains hospitalized. The suicide attempt is under investigation.
