Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Authorities are reporting a bicyclist was killed this morning 8-20 trying to cross the railroad tracks. The bicyclist was hit by the Brightline train in Pompano Beach. According to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright, the incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of North Dixie Highway. This makes at least 16 killed by Brightline which was just purchased by Virgin Air and Billionaire Richard Branson. Brightline had just recently announced plans for a Boca Raton station as well as Disneyworld and Tampa. The railroad has been plagued by negative publicity stemming from the high amount of deaths the train has been involved with since it began running in South Florida.
