We support merchants and restaurants and citizens that were and are searching for and offering alternatives and are opposed to government intervention.
We have stated earlier not only should Deerfield Beach not be involved in “Banning Straws”. We do not believe they have the authority to do so. Deerfield-News.com believes any merchant or seller of food products or user of straws has a constitutional challenge and a good one against the proposed ordinance. This mayor and commission would be better served finding out and stopping the 4 million dollar misuse of funds they spent than worrying about plastic straws. The final vote is set for tomorrow.
