Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach-In a lawsuit filed July 15 in Broward Circuit Court. A Carolyn McEvoy from New Jersey alleges the city Of Deerfield Beach failed to follow safety guidelines. Stemming from her participation in 2015 Zumba class on the pier at SE 21 St Way in Deerfield Beach.
The cities negligence in maintaining the pier and not fixing an elevated plank, which caused her serious bodily injury, pain and suffering disability, disfigurement and aggravated a pre-existing injury.
The Plaintiff McEvoy is holding the City of Deerfield beach responsible for failing to maintain failing to protect invitees and had no caution and or warning signs. The plaintiff is seeking in excess of $15,000 which is the minimum needed to qualify for Circuit court.
