Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-As construction begins on the first of the CVE gatehouses for their security guards, traffic on Military was smoother during rush hour. That said the extra traffic flowed mostly to the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance causing a few backups there. As we reported yesterday BSO in cooperation with Boca Raton Police arrested a burglar who had authorized access to CVE.This alleged burglar had committed dozens of storage room break-ins. CVE can and must do better in screening all who enter. I have been coming in and out here for 42 years, the security in today’s day and age must be modernized.
The use of cameras recording license tags as vehicles enter. and drivers licenses must be shown to security for all visitors including food deliveries, UPS, FEDEX, USPS not important. All visitors need a temporary ID as used in hospitals or at least a printed card to be displayed in the windshield showing who the visitor is and what unit owner they are going to see. Just go over to Independence Bay see how their system works. Drive up the road into Boca Raton and see how the gated communities do it there.CVE is very weak in this area. I understand the volume of vehicles, but security must adapt and overcome and meet the challenge with technology.
