Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie arrested on Tuesday on charges that she lied about the money she took from developers and hid more than $335,000 in income. Haynie was charged with four felonies and three misdemeanors. The 62-year-old Mayor was released late Tuesday night from the Palm Beach County jail.Investigators apparently have been investigating Haynie since she was elected to office.
The report shows Haynie took over $335,000 of unreported income and also voted favorably on projects involving local developer James Batmasian. Her attorney said the following “Mrs. Haynie wholeheartedly and completely denies the allegations, which we plan to fight in court to the fullest extent,” Feuer said.
