Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Breaking News-An apartment fire in Century Village East, today brought out multiple fire and rescue units. Newport U 1107 part of an 80 unit four-story condo that fronts Tenth Street had one ground floor unit that caught on fire.
BSO Fire Rescue is now confirming the unit owner had lit a candle on the patio and was going to shower when the unattended candle caught fire and spread.
Broward Sheriffs Office PIO was on the scene and said there was one injury. The apartment is completely gutted it is located on the ground floor, Fire Marshall and Inspectors are on the scene. Smoke damage seems to have affected several other units in the building.
