Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-In a city that has become the “Capital of Rehabs” and sober homes now the city wants to reverse course on Marijuana dispensaries.While the voters have spoken and the commission already voted ,now the commission wants to “Renege”.We believe it is all the negative attention they are receiving about censoring Deerfield Beach Magazine and it’s story about the “Opioid Epidemic” and how Deerfield Beach is ground zero and the “Capital of Rehabs”.
Deerfield Beach all of a sudden is hitting the panic button and having second thoughts about allowing medical marijuana dispensaries proliferate the city.Seems only Commissioner Bernie Parness is not in a reneging mood.Mayor and the other commissioners sure seem like they are having second thoughts about dispensaries. Commissioner Joe Miller said,maybe other cities “were wiser than we were at first” .
Commissioner Parness had the following to say.
You are protecting us against what?” he said. “A legal store selling a legal product to ease pain, children with epilepsy, people with brain cancer?
“I stand with backbone and say, ‘People who are suffering deserve relief and they deserve it in the city they live in,’’
