The City of Deerfield Beach will resume regular City operations on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 8:00AM. At this time, we would like to update residents on current conditions in Deerfield Beach.

Power:
Of the 48,900 FPL customers in Deerfield Beach, 37,280 were affected with power outages. As of 9AM, September 13, 2017, power has been restored to 23,760. There are still 13,520 homes waiting for the lights to come on. FPL has reported that they expect to have power restored in all of Deerfield Beach by the end of the week. For all power outage issues and information, contact FPL at 1-800-468-8243.

Recycling and Solid Waste:
Commercial and roll-off services have resumed on a limited basis.
Residential garbage collection will resume tomorrow, Thursday September 14th, returning to the normal weekly schedule. Residential recycling collection will resume on Monday September 18th.
Hurricane debris removal on public roads is expected to commence on Friday September 15th. Remember that debris piles should be placed curbside and away from garbage carts, mailboxes, lower wires, fire hydrants, etc.
Please be patient as there are large volumes of debris throughout the City and removal will take some time.

Water:
At no time, during or after the storm, was there a boil water advisory for the City of Deerfield Beach. Deerfield Beach water is safe to drink.
Sewage:
90-percent of city pump stations are being powered through FPL or crews with generators. To reduce stress on the sewer system please limit flushing and long showers.

Traffic Signals:
There are still traffic signals that are inoperable throughout the city; some have been outfitted with stop signs. Remember to treat these intersections as 4-way stops. We are working with FPL to restore power to these as quickly as possible.

Parks and Recreation:
The City of Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier sustained significant damage and is closed to the public until further notice.
The pool at the Aquatics Center is closed until further notice.
All of the City’s recreation centers will be open tomorrow at their normal times, however programming will not resume until Monday, September 18th.

Senior Services:
The City will resume transportation services via the community bus shuttles, Deerfield Beach Express 1 and 2 beginning Wednesday, from 3PM – 7PM. All transportation services and Senior Services facilities will resume normal operations, Thursday, September 14, 2017.
