Deerfield News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-Jagermeister of Wolfenbuttel ,Germany and the City of Deerfield Beach have signed an agreement over Jagermeisters claim of a Trademark infringement.There was in fact a Trademark Infringement issue and a demand letter on behalf of Mast-Jagermeister of Wolfenbuttel,Germany to our city. This has resulted in an agreement between the two sides.Seems Jagermeister has paid $5,000 dollars to Deerfield Beach.So we can all drink up that they did not sue the city and paid 5k to resolve the logo questions.

Wonderful news Howie, just don’t forget to include what they paid the city and the fact that this was in fact administrative action involving our trademarking efforts, which have been successful. It would be great to see someone finally get out the facts of this case. I look forward to reading it.

Application Ser. No. 86812740 for the Buck Design (see below).

You likely recall that this application covers “Hats; Shirts” in class 25 and “Convention and visitors bureau services, namely, promoting tourism, business and conventions in and around the Deerfield Beach, Florida area; Promoting recreation and tourism in the City of Deerfield Beach, Florida” in class 35.Jägermeister is concerned about your possible use and registration of the Buck Design for clothing without the addition of the wording “DEERFIELD BEACH FLORIDA”. They have requested that we delete Class 25 from the Buck Design trademark application. They have also specifically stated that they are not concerned about the use of the Buck Design in conjunction with the words DEERFIELD BEACH FLORIDA, and they are not concerned about the registration or use of the Buck Design alone in connection with “Convention and visitors bureau services, namely, promoting tourism, business and conventions in and around the Deerfield Beach, Florida area; Promoting recreation and tourism in the City of Deerfield Beach, Florida” as listed in class 35.In summary, Jägermeister’s complete demand is that we (1) remove class 25 from the one application that includes only the Buck Design and (2) that we agree to use the Buck promoting tourism, business and conventions in and around the Deerfield Beach, Florida area; Promoting recreation and tourism in the City of Deerfield Beach, Florida.”I have let Jägermeister know that we are discussing this matter with you. We will need to send them a response sometime in June.
