Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-On my last visit to Two Georges at The Cove, which back in the day was just The Cove,I valet parked my car and came out to a car with it’s driver side back window smashed.

The valet on duty seemed to want to blame spontaneous combustion for the cause,he did not want to answer why my car was parked in a HANDICAP SPOT or who the owner of the valet company was.

The spot directly in front of Two Georges at The Cove’s main entrance. The first valet could not have been ruder and more unconcerned than he was.His coworker totally different gave me the owners number and name and was certainly polite unlike his coworker. The valet company owner did agree to pay for the windows replacement and he did.The Cove called BSO to come out,an incident report was made and it is posted below.as well as our question to BSO about the enforcement of laws as they apply to Handicap parking in Deerfield Beach. Now our assumption is that an angry customer who maybe was driving around a bit trying to find a spot ,not using valet saw our car parked without a Handicap Permit and broke our window. We believe it was busy enough that both valets were so busy parking cars they really had no clue as to what happened.

Spontaneous combustion was a very poor explanation from the rude guy.Two Georges at The Cove management claims the video was not working.

Subject: Valet parking in handicap spaces

Media Relations,

Had an incident at The Cove in Deerfield Beach BSO case number 10-1703-002949 please forward report when available. This incident brought to my attention that the valet parking company parked my car in a handicap spot.

My question  is it lawful for the valet parking company to park a vehicle without a Handicap Permit in a handicap spot?

BSO provides code enforcement as well as law enforcement for Deerfield Beach if it is not permitted how does a restaurant like Two Georges at The Cove do this and leave a handicap person without parking?

Thank You,

Howard Levy

Mr. Levy,

The report requested is attached.

My understanding is that the valet question might be addressed by a city ordinance.

Please, contact the city PIO.
