The BSO Public Information Office is currently working a developing incident regarding a release of 911 calls located at: N/A.

Public Information officer Veda Coleman-Wright is currently gathering the details. Here’s what we know so far:

The FBI continues to investigate the shooting that occurred on January 6 at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

In response to numerous public records requests, the BSO’s Audio Evidence Unit has been working with FBI agents to review the 911 calls.

These calls are being divided into those related to the shooting and those not directly related to the shooting.

NOT DIRECTLY RELATED

The majority of the calls were received at or near the time of the shooting, but are not directly related to the shooting.

Today, we are releasing a random sampling of these calls free of charge. The total running time of these 10 calls is 42:45.

There are about 100 more calls like these. Processing the additional calls will incur a cost due to the labor-intensive request. If your organization desires to have the remaining calls, processed at a cost, please email your request to [email protected].

DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SHOOTING

There are 25 calls directly related to the shooting.

The FBI has not cleared 14 of these calls for release as they are part of their active investigation.

Eleven of the calls have been cleared and will be released in the near future after the required redactions are applied.

These calls will also be provided free of charge.
