The Radio Hall of Fame today.

For those South Floridians that remember Neil and listening to him daily from the time he did serious talk to his famous “NEILLL” schtick.
Nelson Roger Behelfer was his birth name.Neil was a native of upstate New York loved to talk about Canidagua Downs and White Hots from Don and Bob’s.Neil also did baseball sports casting for the Miami Hurricanes during his distinguished radio broadcasting career.
During the controversial era of Anita Bryant Nine months later, when singer and former Miss America Anita Bryant began a crusade to repeal a Dade County ordinance banning discrimination against gays, Neil Rogers responded by announcing “on the air” that he was gay on December 17, 1976 way before it was done by anyone who had a radio career at stake!
