DEERFIELD BEACH-BSO HOMICIDE DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE DEATH OF A WOMAN FOUND INSIDE BURNING HOME 

Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the death of a woman discovered Friday morning inside a burning home.

At approximately 4:34 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a residential fire at a duplex located at 4329 N.W. Fourth Ave. in Deerfield Beach. BSO district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, firefighters and deputies found the duplex engulfed in flames. Firefighters fought the residential fire until they extinguished the flames. Sadly, they found Ana De Souza deceased inside the duplex.

Detectives from BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to the scene and are currently conducting a death investigation. The cause of the suspicious fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
