Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,FL-We have been looking for quite some time for inspections done at Century Diner in Century Village. While doing our Dirty In Deerfield posts about recent restaurant inspections we were not able to find Century Diner.
We checked with both agencies that inspect restaurants and other food establishments The Florida Department of Agriculture and The Department of Business and Professional Regulations AKA the DBPR. We could not find any DBA or Corporation or LLC operating at the address of the Century Diner inside of Century Village.
I understand that either COOCVE or Cen Club who are the management arm of Century Village East are the owners/have control of that building located behind the ClubHouse.
OUR SOURCE SAYS BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED CLIENT BASE THAT THIS SPACE IS GIVEN FREE TO THE TENANT.
Seems to us that COOCVE(Condominium Owners Organization of Century Village East (COOCVE)/Cen Club and The State of Florida have dropped the ball on making sure the food establishment known as” Century Diner” has a license to sell food and operate a restaurant.
Our inquiry has led the DBPR to confirm the operator was and is operating without a food license. As of this writing, they have now applied for a license as evidenced below. We have questioned the DBPR’s Office of Communications as to how this is possible. This restaurant has been in existence for over 48 years and has had multiple operators. Certainly at some point in time inspections were being done. The State of Florida had to know or should have known there was a restaurant being operated behind the Century Village Clubhouse without a license.
