Deerfield-News,com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- We have contacted our Congressman Jared Moskowitz to let him know how we as a long-standing Broward Democrat feel about President Biden continuing to run for office. We voted for President Biden 3 times twice as Vice President and once for President.
I am old enough to remember smoked-filled rooms of Broward County Democratic leaders going back to former Sunrise Mayor John Lomelo and former Mayor Jean Robb. I remember when Amadeo “Trinchi” Trinchitella was the most influential Democrat in the county with connections right to the White House. They used to call Congressmen Wexler Trinchi’s guy.
James Carville and today George Clooney along with a few MEMBERS OF CONGRESS and 1 SENATOR seem to have what it takes to let the dam begin to crack. Carville’s Idiotic Choice is as clever a phrase as “it is the economy stupid” was back in the day.
This is not an easy decision. President Biden is a good and decent man and aging affects everyone differently. As I wrote in my piece the other day this is like taking the keys away from my then 83-year-old dad after driving with him and nearly having a serious car crash. The Democratic leadership needs to have that Barry Goldwater /Come to Jesus moment with the President. The harsh realities of life and of father time throw curveballs at us and sometimes we must tell loved ones and friends what needs to be done.
Time for Presidents Obama and Clinton the House Minority Leader and Senate Majority Leader and the former Speaker of the House to speak up! Time for each and every Democratic member of Congress and Senator to speak up!
