At approximately 1:01 p.m. Sept 20, Broward County Regional Communications received a call in reference to a traffic crash with injuries at the 11800 block of Griffin Road in Cooper City. Upon Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies’ arrival, they located the crash involving two vehicles. One vehicle was flipped over and the other on fire. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel provided medical assistance to the victims and extinguished the fire in the vehicle. BSO Air Rescue responded and assisted in transporting two of the three victims. The third victim of the crash, identified as Miami-Dade Police Captain Tyrone White, was pronounced deceased on scene. Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating the crash and additional information will be released when available.
