Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-We remember when Fatboyz BBQ first opened we thought and still do their BBQ was excellent. Fatboyz reminds me of the old days when Tom’s was on Dixie Highway in Boca and the people would wait in lines. Fatboyz is the real deal they are cooking low and slow and know BBQ. This Deerfield Beach eatery has quickly gained a local following. With three locations now open in Broward County. They have the  one here in Deerfield Beach another in Coral Springs and the recently opened Cypress Creek store just east of I-95

On my first trip to Fatboyz, when they first opened we had the BBQ brisket platter with coleslaw, brisket baked beans, and cornbread. Everything was excellent and having a fountain birch beer to top it off. From the second you are nearby you can smell the BBQ, and it does taste as good as it smells. From the second we walked in we were greeted felt welcomed staff super friendly, the food speaks for itself!

Last week we tried the same as above as a takeout order and it was just as delicious and I ate in the comfort of my living room.

Deerfield-News.com’s friend and FatBoyz regular client Gary Heimowitz has told us the BBQ pastrami is the best he has ever eaten.

FatBoyz is located at 204 South Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach just south of Hillsboro Boulevard. This is the same spot as the” Lil Ole Caboose” that sold boxcar burgers(sliders) and hot dogs were located in for decades.

Their phone is 754-212-2595 and you can find them online at www.fatboyzbarbeque.com

    • Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Deerfield Beaches first bagel bakery and deli opened at 230 South Powerline Road. Bronx Bagel and Deli opened in March for business both the bagels and deli are great! As a loyal Pickle Barrel customer since they opened in 1974 it is nice to have an alternative out in west Deerfield and one that bakes bagels as well as PICKLING corned beef with bakery products as well is a bonus. We stopped in last week again to take out a dozen bagels and were very happy as usual!  Their pumpernickel and marble bagels my favorite, their bialy also was nice!  The clean, modern facility and friendly staff make it a nice place. We have been back several times and try to try the different items offered by Bronx Bagel and Deli. Pastrami, corned beef, brisket, latkes, and knishes all very nice. These folks make a nice sandwich they also offer bakery items for those with a sweet tooth as well. Burgers and a full breakfast with their bagels available every day. Bakery items from almond horns, cookies to babka and more, Bronx Bagel and Deli has it.

Time to talk again about “The Best Deli in Deerfield Beach” hands down The Pickle Barrel. From the time my grandparents moved to Deerfield Beach in 1976, I have been enjoying their sandwiches. Most longtime residents have been going there for decades as well. My favorites Corned Beef, Pastrami, Brisket and “The Deli Dinger” Corned Beef Roast Beef and Pastrami. All of it as good as it gets!
Service at The Pickle Barrel is excellent, they have eat in, take out and they also offer delivery.
