Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- Why are there so many train accidents in South Florida? We have written several times about Brightline and not favorably. I along with many think there is something other than stupid drivers going on. Now I understand most of the cases, unfortunately, involve suicide and or pedestrians or drivers with bad judgment decisions made to beat the train.
WHAT IS THIS PHENOMENA OF TRYING TO OUTRUN A TRAIN ESPECIALLY A HIGHER SPEED ONE?
We can debate whether anyone is using Brighline and it’s needs another day, but this thing is The Death Train something is not right.
Yes, we have gone as far as to call Brightline The Death Train as we think there is something with the signaling and timing on those trains. That said there is still way too many train wrecks in South Florida. We were fortunate yesterday and earlier with the derailment of the Tri-Rail a few days ago that there were no injuries.’
I have been to Europe over 2 dozens times and traveled to Japan they have high-speed trains that put ours to shame, they do not have this issue like we do.
Seems to us there is an increase in both train vs pedestrian and train vs vehicle collisions on the rise.I get that everyone thinks there could be nothing wrong with the system, like the timing sequence for the gates or some other electronic item that has caused this crazy uptick in train accidents locally.
Time for the NTSB to investigate before more people are injured or killed.
