Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield-Beach, Fl-While the Florida House voted 112-2 to make “Texting While Driving” a primary offense. Senator Rob Bradley appears to be spearheading a drive to not allow this, citing privacy reasons. The senator says police would then be given extra policing powers such as confiscating the cell phone in order to make their case for Driving While Texting.

Those that read this blog know we are in favor of stricter testing or retesting for our elderly.Deerfield-News.com has reported on many local accidents caused by elderly drivers, like driving into storefronts and trains. The above picture was from last week where an 89-year-old Deerfield beach driver drove thru the Post Office. Not to mention the other senior citizen last week that stopped on the FEC tracks before the Brightline train passed and crashed into his car.

Our other pet peeve which police could enforce at any time is the optional use of turn signals by Floridians. Including law enforcement, who do not always use their turn signals.

Floridians need not panic yet our Legislators and Governor are not really in a hurry for any of these safety measurements, just yet. So you can continue cursing inside of your car at other drivers or take it full extreme to a nice case of Florida road rage!
