Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-Driving around the city of Deerfield Beach you can still see plenty of debris.From the beach to the Intracoastal,The Cove to out west Deer Run and Deer Creek and beyond.Deerfield Beach still has a debris problem.Today driving in some areas we found debris still blocking corners with stop signs,on busy streets like A1A and 6th and out west near Deer Creek on Hillsboro Boulevard.We have not found any neighborhoods untouched from this isssue and still with plenty of debris.We also found some knocked down street signs and a stop sign on the island near the Intracoastal.These are all pictures taken today 9-28-2017 in Deerfield Beach.
We also went to see where the City of Deerfield Beach is transferring from one truck to another the collected debris,a transfer station of sorts in Constitution Park in Deer Creek.After Constitution Park we took a drive down to 48th Street to the recycling companies that are accepting debris from the city as well as private contractors hauling debris.
Then we saw the city of Deerfield Beach make this Facebook post this afternoon about residents having the ability to DIY.We also are posting the residents comments to the post the city made as well as the response from Deerfield Beach.

Christina Grilo So I can do the work by bringing it to a disposal facility and get charged for it, yet we are charged in our water bills for garbage. Cool, no thanks, it can just sit there.

City of Deerfield Beach, Florida – Municipal Government City staff are working hard to get the City cleaned up. This storm produced a massive amount of vegetative debris, and it will take time to get everything back to normal. Some residents have requested this information on disposal so they can take care of it quicker.
Carlos Kopecny Boca has cleared up their neighborhoods and so have other areas in Broward. Why is it taking so long? I understand work backing up, but we should have at least been notified to avoid placing items out front making the neighborhood look degraded and hurting the lawns.
Luis Perez same here, first they posted on the creek website that all hurticane debris must not be mixed up with bags of leaves or other trash so I thougnt, this is why they are not picking it up, I went through all of the debris and made sure it was only hurricane debris, this morning the truck came picked up both my neighbors and not just mine! whatsup creek?
