Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Deerfield Beach.
Just before midnight on Oct. 6, Colin Tyler was riding a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Hillsboro Boulevard at a high rate of speed. When he traveled over the railroad tracks near Dixie Highway, he lost control of the motorcycle.
Tyler’s bike fell onto its side and slid over the pavement and across the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway. Tyler was not wearing a protective helmet and struck his head causing fatal injuries. He died at the scene.
The preliminary investigation has found no evidence that would indicate any other vehicles were involved.
