Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-BSO has announced the arrest of the suspected Deerfield Beach Island attempted rapist.

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a 41-year-old man in the armed sexual battery of a Deerfield Beach woman.

Alex Miller, of Jacksonville, is suspected of committing two sexual batteries on the same day on the city’s barrier island. He faces charges of armed sexual battery and armed burglary for the assault of the 33-year-old woman.

BSO Special Victims Unit detectives arrested Miller on May 10, 2018, in Jacksonville on a Broward County warrant. After resolving misdemeanor charges in Duval County, he was extradited to Broward and jailed on July 16. Detectives continue to investigate the case of the second victim, who was 53 years old at the time.

Each victim told detectives that an unidentified intruder entered her home through an unlocked door in the early morning hours on Oct. 4, 2017.

The first victim, a 53-year-old woman at the time, said the incident occurred about 1:30 a.m., and the second victim, a 33-year-old woman, said the assailant threatened her with a knife and attempted to sexually batter her at approximately 5:14 a.m. Investigators are not releasing their names due to the nature of the reported crimes.
