Boca Raton Police investigate robbery

Boca Raton, FL – On November 19, 2019, at approximately 6:00 pm, Boca Raton Police responded to the BSO Oakland Park substation where a woman walked in and said she had been taken from Boca Raton and robbed. The victim said around 11:00 am, she was working at a house when she decided to take a walk. The victim walked west on East Palmetto Park Road and then south on Federal Highway where she stopped at the Publix, 1001 South Federal Highway.

The victim was then approached by a Hispanic female who said she was new to the area and was looking for an attorney’s office. She asked if the victim would go with her and provide directions. The victim agreed and followed the woman to a van where a Hispanic male was waiting outside of the vehicle. The victim got into the van and said the male locked the doors and demanded all her money.

The suspects drove the victim to a Publix on Commercial Blvd in Oakland Park and told her to go inside and call someone to have money sent or they would kill her. The woman proceeded to call an out of state relative and had her wire her some money. While waiting for the money, the suspects drove the victim around the area. When the transfer was complete the victim withdrew the money and gave it to the two suspects. The victim was then released unharmed.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic female, approximately 45-50 years old, 5’8” with a heavy build.
