BSO Says It May Be Months To Identify Bodies Found In Cars In Lakes

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Two cases in Deerfield Beach where remains have been found in sunken cars. Two cases BSO says may take months to identify the remains. One case was in the lake at Independence Bay on Powerline Road the other in Century Village behind Upminster K along the old golf course.

BSO detectives continue to work to positively identify both people found in submerged cars. The identification process is expected to take weeks, if not months.

Description of Incident:

Human remains were found this afternoon in a waterlogged vehicle in Deerfield Beach, and Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating.

 

Around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 26, Regional Communications received a call that a car was in the lake at 1500 S. Powerline Road. BSO deputies responded, and divers with the public safety agency assisted with the removal of the car and the human remains.

 

Detectives are working to determine the gender and identity of the body. Their investigation continues.

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified adult female whose body was found Thursday night in a submerged car in Deerfield Beach.
Around 7 p.m. Sept. 6, a resident reported seeing a portion of the car protruding from the lake at Century Village’s Upminster K, near 424 S. Century Blvd. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and divers responded and recovered a woman’s body from a Toyota Corolla.
Detectives are working on a positive identification. Broward County’s Medical Examiner and Trauma Services will determine the cause of death. The investigation continues.
