Deerfield Beach and Our Water Treatment Plant When A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words I Mean 14.6 Million Dollars

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-Since our original inquiry as to a rust problem at the water plant ( see emails below) and today Deerfield Beach which said in a, non answer answer we meet federal guidelines. We may meet guidelines but that does not mean we have no water problems. We are as we would suggest you can do,testing samples of Deerfield Beach’s tap water with kits bought at a local store.

Results and video of our self testing will be published shortly on Deerfield-News.com .

That is all well and good ,but if we need 14.6 Million dollars in work to update and upgrade our plant, why not just say that. The lack of truth and transparency from city hall is something that is not needed. There is nothing wrong with telling it like it is.

We have requested from both Deerfield Beach city hall and Department of Health State of Florida, the current status of our water plant as it relates to the failed inspection of 2017.

We have asked for a visit to the plant with a city and state official. We hope they will invite us for a tour so we can see with our eyes.Again we reiterate city officials when we originally asked about the conditions of the plant would have been better served telling what the situation was.

Then there was the situation where the State of Florida Department of Health Legal Counsel asks us not to publish a public record they sent to us. Citing a Florida statute that does not apply to any exemption related to a failed water treatment inspection or pictures of an out of compliance water plant. Those things are legitimate public records and we should not be denied or delayed the receiving of them.

Dear Mr. Levy:

The Department of Health responded to your public records request yesterday.  Your request specifically sought information regarding possible water system corrosion and rust.  In our response, reference was made to certain photographs not being released pursuant to exemptions as permitted by law under the Florida Statutes.  As a practical matter, the pictures were inadvertently released.  Those photos are exempt from public disclosure pursuant to §119.07 and §119.071 (3)(b)1. and 2.  I understand that six of the pictures were posted on your website.  We would ask that you respect the intent behind the law.  We request that you please remove the published pictures that have been posted as soon as possible and refrain from further dissemination of those images.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and cooperation.

Regards,
