Golf Course Real Estate Deerfield Beach’s Next Communities Are Going To Be Built on Them

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-As Florida’s courts have ruled in favor of developer after developer golf courses have become the most sought after real estate to build new homes on.Throughout the State of Florida there are and have been many court challenges.

While the courts have permitted many of these zoning and use changes there are still pending and conflicting cases.Some giving some property owners rights to sue for damages of lost views and or the fact owners paid more to live on the golf course when they originally bought.

Deerfield Beach just approved Crystal Lake rezoning on the first reading.The next and final reading for rezoning will be December 5th. This past week on 11-7 the city commission voted 4-1 with commissioner Parness voting against changing the zoning from”Open Space”and “Public Recreation” to “Planned Unit Development”.The approval will allow for 415 dwelling units with a limit of 125 townhomes. Century Village is next they are going to have a Toll Brothers project on part of its golf course too.

Deerfield Beach which once boasted five golf courses will be left with one at Deer Creek Country Club.Several residents spoke at the commission meeting and were disappointed with seeing family recreation centers being eliminated.The facts do show a growth and resurgence in the playing of golf again especially with youth and women.

Boca Raton has just recently sold its municpal golf course.Boca Lago Country Club on Boca Rio also has recently been sold for a new development. Pulte Group pays $8M for 40 acres at Boca Lago Country Club. Pulte Group just closed on a 40-acre site within the Boca Lago Country Club for $8.3 million. Pulte plans to develop a retirement community called Boca Flores on the unicorporated Boca Raton land,
