BSO DETECTIVES IDENTIFY WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN BURNING TRAILER

Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives have identified one of two victims who were found dead in a burning mobile home on Sunday. Dorothy Stevens, 84, was at her Deerfield Beach home when Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and deputies responded to quell a fire.
The first responders arrived at 2:40 a.m. Oct. 8 to find Stevens’ trailer home at 1810 Valencia Drive on fire. Once the flames were extinguished, the bodies of Stevens and a man were discovered.
Detectives and the county’s medical examiner’s office are working on identifying the man. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. BSO’s death investigation continues.
